Employee count:

  • Elementary school teachers for 2015-2016 school year - 17 plus 2 teaching assistants, average salary $115.00 per month
  • Middle school teachers - 14 plus 3 cleaning and maintenance -  average salary $88.00 per month (maintenance salaries bring the salary down)
  • School kitchen cooks - 6, average salary $63.00 per month
  • School administrative for maintenance, construction and cleaning - 5, average salary $60.00 per month
  • Rectory employees - 4, rectory manager, cook, cleaning person, mechanic included in rectory expenses
  • Rectory expenses, diesel, charcoal, gas, food, salaries, car parts and tires - $1,200.00 per month

The school year is 9 months out of 12, the rectory expenses are 12 months per year.

His yearly budget is $65,700.00 and we estimate we can fundraise for almost $50,000.00  There is always a shortage on our side, but we are only able to send what we have.  Quarterly funds are sent to St. Benoit.  Any new fundraising ideas are always welcomed.  Monsignor is very active at finding new sources of support either in kind or donations.  The long term view is once the construction is complete to move into the community with different sustainable programs such as a hen house, micro finance programs, trade schools etc. as Jean Marie discussed.  The people of St. Benoit need to move in a direction to start paying tuition so Monsignor can in turn pay the salaries and expenses of the parish.

  • Total $10,004.00

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  Please work within your subcommittees to make the transition a smooth one for Tony and NIH 2016 a successful one.

I will be temporarily relocating to Pensacola, FL until we find another home in the Mandeville area.  It has been a pleasure to work with you in the past and I look forward to much more success in the future together.

7 May 2014 Meeting Minutes

The Haiti mission trip was very successful with no mishaps.  The construction has advanced quickly with an additional room and bath in the rectory and much more.  There is now a second priest (Vicar) and a seminarian Mertyl Fritznel ABBE. Mertyl serves as the middle school principal and teaches catechists.
  • The cafeteria is 95% complete and is also used as a meeting hall, cinema and other large gatherings.  It has been named the "Mary, Queen of Peace Hall".  Plaster and paint is all that is needed.
  • The kitchen, pantry, toilet and three additional classrooms are 90% complete, just plaster and paint.
  • Monsignor was able to acquire new tables and school desks from Food For The Poor in Miami.
  • The cement fence is a two story, cinder block, plastered and painted wall that encloses the property.  Just one main gate is in need to secure it.
  • The big news was the water well.  It is 100% complete and paid for.  We sent the final check in April.  It is well regulated with operating hours.  A local parishioner donated the property on which it is built.  It is much nicer than we had anticipated.
  • Vitamin Angels, Vitamin A, multivitamin and Albendazole (de worming medicine) training and distribution went very well and 30 women arrived after Sunday mass with their babies to receive doses.  We have left the remaining product and materials in good hands at St. Benoit.  Stephonie Lubin will manage the vitamin A distribution and Carlo Juste Pierre, Teacher of French and health sciences, will manage the multivitamin and Albendazole distribution.  We passed out the "Dress a girl Around the World" dresses and have left the rest for the 1st and 2nd graders.  Thank you to Tracy Thomassie and Kathy Cyr.
  • Teacher training by Nancy and Sr. Marina went very well and met with Chrisnel Augustin, 5th grade teacher, before the general teacher training.  Chrisnel took the lead and the session had great participation from all of the elementary school teachers.

  • July/Aug Peace Times - Sheila will write an article on the the trip.
  • We will have a 20 minute video prepared to view by the end of June, date to be announced.  Some pictures will be on the website.
