The Eagle of teh Cross Award is a national award that is the highest honor the Archdiocese of New Orleans can bestow upon a young person. She was recognized with a beautiful plaque from the Archbishop for her Chrsitian service, Catholic leadership and good moral standards. Only 11 youth from the entire archdiosece received the award.

Brittany Huguet, Chris Marquez, and Sean Smith were honored as Outstanding Youth from Mary Queen of Peace parish at the annual Leadership Celebration which involved over 30 parishes in the Archdiocese. All 3 students are shown wearing the medals they were presented with from Archbishop Hughes.
A fourth-grader at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic School, recently won first place in an international contest called "Try Prayer, it Works!" She received a certificate during end-of-the-year awards ceremony at school. With her are Father Ronnie, Director of Religious Education Jewell Bayhi and Principal Jan Daniel Lancaster .
